Got Out For Some More Kayak Fishing Today!

Got out for some nice kayak fishing today! Daily report, got out again, even during the nice rain showers we get every day here in florida. We battled it out from 3 o clock onto about 7 30 or 8 and fought through the rain showers. Took the fishing kayaks down the st. johns river to try a little brackish water fishing. Well with the tpical afternoon thunderstorms here in florida, we expected good fishing, and got it.

We started out by the buckman bridge fishing up and down the pillars with shrimp, and maribou jigs. They were tearing the jigs up, and the shrimp didn't really turn on til this evening. All in all, it was a very fun time. My partner ended up boating 19 fish total, including trash fish (hey a fish is a fish in my book! save the trash for wednesday mornings!)

We did get to try out our new pelican potomac kayaks. I didn't care for mine too much but then again I dont like the 10 feet long sit in sides. They tend to make you ache at the end of the day. He gave his good reviews!

I ended up leaving the day with around 12, even pulled a bass out of some pretty salty water. Most of the catching was lady fish, jacks, a red, and a couple trout. Not bad for a day of kayak fishing. After all it beats work any day. I have a coozie I keep with me, my good luck coozie, that says a bad day fishing is better than a good day working! I believe it, and being out on the fishing kayaks was excellent. If you haven't done it yet you gotta get out!
